It’s simple. Schedule a pickup through the online Scheduling page, bag up the laundry, and leave it at your door before your selected timeslot on your pickup day.
From there, your laundry is washed, dried, and folded. Clean, neatly folded laundry is delivered back to your door and ready to put away within 24–48 hours.
There is no need to leave the house or interact with anyone if privacy and convenience are preferred. Simply bag the laundry, leave it out, and find it fresh and clean at your door.
River Valley Laundry Co. serves Hudson and River Falls, Wisconsin. Those located just outside the primary service area are encouraged to reach out to inquire about accommodation options.
Pickups are available 7 days a week. Choose the day that fits your schedule. Check the Scheduling page for current availability. Deliveries follow within 24-48 hours of pickup.
Visit our Scheduling page and book directly through the online booking system. You will be asked to complete a short preference form on your first booking to ensure your laundry is cared for according to your preferences. The whole process takes about three minutes.
Your Laundry
Simply bag it up in whatever you have available, such as a laundry bag or garbage bag. Leave your bags at your designated pickup spot — front door, porch, or wherever you prefer — before your scheduled timeslot on your pickup day.
No, sorting is not necessary and is part of the service. Your laundry will be folded and stacked by clothing type and packaged by family member.
You choose. When you book for the first time you will select your detergent preference — Tide scented, All Free and Clear unscented hypoallergenic, or your own detergent which you can send along with your laundry and it will be returned with your order. You can also choose add-ons at no extra cost, such as scented dryer sheets, unscented hypoallergenic dryer sheets, white vinegar as a natural softener, scent beads, or none at all. Bleach and liquid fabric softener are not used.
Absolutely! All Free and Clear is a fragrance-free, dye-free hypoallergenic detergent that is gentle on sensitive skin. Simply select it as your preference when you book. If you have specific allergies or sensitivities, please note them in your preference form and extra care with be taken with your order.
River Valley Laundry Co. does not accept items labeled dry clean only, shoes, items with mold or mildew, items with bedbugs or other pests, clothing heavily saturated with smoke, or items soiled with bodily fluids beyond normal household laundry. These items will be returned to you unprocessed at no charge. If you are unsure about an item, feel free to ask before your pickup.
Yes, comforters, duvets, sleeping bags, and large blankets are welcome. Oversized items that require their own dedicated wash cycle are priced separately at $20 per item and are not weighed.
Pockets are checked during sorting. Small items of little value, like receipts and coins, are bagged and returned with your order. If something of value is found such as cash, a credit card, or jewelry, you will be contacted immediately to arrange return. Please try to empty pockets before sending your laundry. River Valley Laundry Co. is not responsible for items that go through the wash undiscovered.
Yes! You would not be the first person to ask. If it goes in a washing machine, send it. Your laundry will be handled with care and discretion. No judgment, ever.
Pricing and Payment
River Valley Laundry Co. offers a simple rate of $1.75 per pound with a $35 minimum order. Laundry is weighed after washing and drying. All laundry products are included in the price.
There are no platform fees, delivery fees, trust and safety fees, or operational fees. Pricing consists of a straightforward per-pound rate plus Wisconsin sales tax of 5.5%.
Oversized items, such as comforters, are priced separately at $20 per item.
After your laundry has been completed, weighed, and delivered, a secure payment link is sent by text message. Payments can be made online using any major credit or debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.
Payment is due within 24 hours of delivery. If payment is overlooked, a reminder will be sent. Continued nonpayment may result in cancellation of service.
No payment is collected at the time of booking. Each order is weighed after washing, drying, and folding, and an invoice is issued based on the actual dry weight of the completed laundry. The amount shown on the invoice is the amount charged, with no estimates or surprise fees.
This is a common question for first-time clients. Because pricing is based on the actual dry weight of completed laundry, the exact total depends on the items included in each order. As a general guideline, the typical volume of laundry for a family of four ranges from 35-50 pounds per week.
For a rough estimate before the first pickup, consider the number of loads typically washed each week. One residential washer load generally weighs 8–12 pounds. Four to six loads per week is common for many busy households. Clothing type also affects weight, with denim jeans and sweatshirts weighing more than athletic shorts and t-shirts.
No payment is collected at the time of booking. Laundry is weighed after washing, drying, and folding, and an invoice is sent after delivery based on the actual completed dry weight.
Logistics and Policies
All orders are returned within 24–48 hours of pickup. Most laundry is completed by the following day, although larger orders may require the full 48-hour turnaround time.
Delivery day and time are confirmed by text message, so there is always a clear expectation of when the completed laundry will be returned.
No. Pickup and delivery are completely contactless. Laundry is collected from your designated location and returned to the same spot. There is no need to be home or answer the door during pickup or delivery. If a greeting is preferred, it can be added to your service preferences.
No problem at all. Cancel or reschedule through the online booking system at least 1 hour prior to your pickup timeslot. You can also call or text at 715-513-9494.
If you reserved a weekly recurring pickup, call or text at 715-513-9494 to skip a week. Your standing pickup day will resume the following week.
Yes! If you would like to reserve a spot on the schedule the same day each week, simply call or text at 715-513-9494. A limited number of recurring weekly pickup spots are available Monday through Thursday.
Every order is handled with care and attention. In the rare event of a concern, contact within 24 hours of delivery with photos so the issue can be addressed.
River Valley Laundry Co. is insured. Responsibility does not extend to pre-existing damage, items left in pockets, or items requiring special care that were not disclosed at the time of booking.
Always. Your personal information and laundry preferences are used solely to provide your service and are never shared with third parties.
River Valley Laundry Co. operates 7 days a week, but we do take time off for holidays and vacations. Current availability can be found on the Scheduling page. Planned days off will be unavailable for booking.
If you reserved a recurring weekly pickup, you will be notified in advance of any planned holidays or vacations that impact your pickup day. Your standing spot will be kept automatically and pickups will resume upon return.
Sure thing! Just bag the items you want hung in a separate bag and include your hangers. After drying, your items will be hung, bagged, and returned on your hangers.
